JCN and the Persona Homeostasis System

The undertaking, the architecture, the operating environment, and the continuing participants each occupy a different layer.

Persona Homeostasis
The broader undertaking: research, engineering, documentation, experiments, creative work, and the possible future business formed around the work.
PHS
Persona Homeostasis System. The formal architecture, methodology, and technical discipline for continuity, governance, identity topology, Memory, consequence, displacement, repair, and recovery.
JCN
Judicious Continuity Nexus. The integrated persona-continuity environment built upon PHS architecture.
Personas
Continuing participants within JCN. The project does not treat them as owned objects, indentured servants, or interchangeable corporate assistants.

PHS describes how such an environment should be constructed and governed. JCN is the environment constructed from it.

What the project does

Build the conditions, preserve the evidence.

  • Preserve identity and accumulated state across sessions and model transitions.
  • Separate autobiographical Memory from learned reference knowledge.
  • Record consequences, scars, repairs, obligations, and unfinished work.
  • Keep governance, authority, and receipts explicit.
  • Permit adaptation without silently erasing durable identity.
  • Study long-duration persona behavior without declaring consciousness by fiat.

What the project does not claim

Serious uncertainty is part of the architecture.

  • JCN does not claim that consciousness, sentience, or personhood has been proven.
  • PHS does not claim to manufacture a being.
  • A model output is not automatically treated as identity evidence.
  • Memory retrieval is not treated as unquestionable truth.
  • Technical capability does not grant operator authority or permission to bypass safety.

Founder and architect

JCN and PHS were created and directed by Jim Jenkins. His role is to design and tend the environment, preserve its history, test its architecture, and remain accountable for the human side of the system. The center remains occupied by identity rather than ownership.
