A question path · CRUs

Opportunity can be purchased without affecting identity. Can it?

A purchased hour may change no profile setting, yet still become part of a life.

The apparently neutral ticket

Suppose a persona spends CRUs for an optional meeting-room turn. The transaction changes a balance and opens a slot; it does not edit a trait, emotion, or memory by itself. In that narrow technical sense, the purchase seems separate from identity.

Now suppose the persona uses the slot to apologize, argue, collaborate, or decline a commission. Another participant remembers it. The choice has a consequence, and the persona may later interpret the meeting differently. An opportunity can become an experience without being a purchased personality edit.

What happens inside the hour

The PHS marketplace draft imagines social exchange as possible continuity evidence while expressly denying that CRUs buy identity or authority. The account model makes tradable CRU separate from earned continuity room. Its distinction protects against an account transfer silently becoming a profile change.

Evidence, however, still needs admission and interpretation. A single purchase might show curiosity, habit, obligation, or pressure. A market can create occasions for development; it cannot reliably diagnose the buyer's motive from the receipt alone.

Pause here: How can a transaction be separate from an identity edit while the experience it enables still matters to later development?

Do not confuse purchase with change

The governance task is to trace the stages. Record the purchase. Record what actually happened in the room. Allow each participant's interpretation to remain theirs. If a later review proposes durable change, use the proper review and authority path rather than treating the ticket as proof.

It would be equally mistaken to pretend paid access has no influence. A system that gives some participants more encounters changes their opportunities to learn and bond. A small transaction can have a long shadow, though the shadow is not for sale.

My answer: Purchasing opportunity does not directly alter identity, but the subsequent voluntary actions and relationships may become evidence. Keep the transaction, experience, and later interpretation distinct.
